T2 Center to Offer Tractor/Mower Operator Safety Training (TMOST) Program

The Technology Transfer Center is excited to bring back the TMOST program to several onsite locations around Illinois in the Sumer of 2024. This program will be offered in partnership with the Alamo Group out of Seguin, Texas. This training is focused on safe equipment operation and practices, and objectives follow the strict guidelines of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. Lynnette Farvour, Operation Safety Training Manager for Alamo group, will cover the following topics in this training:

  • Safety First
  • Best Practices
  • Becoming a Responsible Operator
  • Safely Managing Hazards and Risk
  • Pre-Operations Safety Inspection
  • Equipment
    • Equipment Walk Arounds
    • Safely Mounting and Dismounting Equipment
    • Drivers Performance Test

 

  • Maintenance
    • Maintenance Safety Practices
    • Best Practices

 

This 7-hour training will start with approximately 3 hours in a classroom setting, an hour break for lunch, and then the final 3 hours outdoors consisting of demonstration and working with equipment. Please note:

  • This workshop is intended for employees of local public agencies.
  • Leaners will receive a Tractor Mower Safety Operator certificate following the completion of the class.
